Crissy does sourdough

This was a great experience to have...ONCE. I kid, I kid! Baking is a multi-faceted hobby, that takes a lot of patience and precision. I admire all of you bakers out there! Like everyone else during quarantine, I decided to try my hand at making sourdough from scratch. Thanks to Easy Tiger, a local bake shop and beer garden, I was able to get my sourdough starter and instructions from a drive-thru window and be on my merry way. I even bought a little yeast from them since it was such a hot commodity circa March-June. I still haven't used it. This is definitely NOT WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR; although, I now have much respect for bread and the process of making it. I feel like the sourdough loaf was the mascot of the quarantine, and rightfully so! They both required us to take a moment and sit with the process. No instant gratification here! It took about 16 hours all-together, and man, was it delicious with a little salted butter. Beautiful.
